What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is from the Greek words meaning done by hand. It is grounded in the principle that the body can heal itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system is functioning properly. To achieve this, the practitioner uses his or her hands to perform specific manipulations of the vertebrae and/or extremities. When the bones of the spine are not correctly articulated, resulting in a condition known as subluxation, nerve transmission is disrupted and causes pain in the back, as well as other areas of the body.

K-Laser

Laser therapy or "photobiomodulation," is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970s. Now, after PDA clearance in 2002, laser therapy is being used extensively in the United States.

There are thousands of published studies demonstrating the clinical effectiveness of laser therapy. Among these, there are more than one hundred rigorously controlled, scientific studies that document the effectiveness of laser therapy for many clinical conditions.

Active Release Technique

The Active Release Techniques (ART) Soft Tissue Management System is a new and highly successful approach to injuries of muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves and surrounding soft tissue. Examples of these conditions include disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff syndrome, chronic lower back pain, and hyper extension/flexion injury (whiplash).

ART systems provide a way to diagnose and treat the underlying etiology of CTD that causes symptoms of numbness, tingling, burning and aching. Trained providers are able to diagnose the presence of abnormal inflammation and adhesion by examining tissue texture, tension and movement. The ART Soft Tissue Management System has over a 90% success rate.

Graston

The Graston Technique is a revolutionary new method in the detection and treatment of areas of "scar tissue" formation in muscles, tendons, and ligaments that can lead to pain and dysfunction. The Graston Technique allows the doctor to detect and treat these areas utilizing a stainless steel instrument that glides along the patient's tissue, breaking up these restrictions and adhesions. The greatest benefit is the amount of improvement that takes place in a short time. The Graston Technique is very effective for many conditions, including plantar fascitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder and sciatica. If you are suffering discomfort and restrictions, inquire whether you can be helped by this new, effective treatment.
